Rifle Team Fun
Here are some pics of me in rifle team. It was a Postal meet by the way.
Sorry ladies, no close ups.
I'm the one in the bright flourescent red. That's a bad picture of me by the way. The weather was harsh.
Setting up the Targets
Shooting the rifles
I know you guys want more. I'll save em for later.

Aww... those .22s are so cute. You should try the .308s :3
Seriously though, I remember my first .22. It was a Marlin t-bolt. Good times. (Weird enough, my first fired gun WASN'T a .22, like most are. My first was an M16A1 *HATE. Don't like Armalite.* at the North Attleboro Range.)

Don't worry, Echo.
Everyone's got to start somewhere.
I think it's great these kids are starting to shoot .22 LR.
If they stay on the right track they'll eventually get to .308, then .30-06 ....then 460 Weatherby Magnum.
GJ Chris. Don't forget:
1. Always treat a gun as if it's loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're going to shoot.
3. Don't point at anything you don't intend to shoot.
4. Know your backstop.

I can imagine one of you lil buggers flyin' across the room, lol.
And a 460? Good lord. I almost broke my wrist on a .454 Cassul on a Century Arm's revolver.

Being a newb when it comes to rifles. Are the Marlin lever-action rifles any good? Just being the nerd for western movies I am, I would like to buy one to go shooting. It'd probably be just a .22 since I'm poor and .22 rounds are cheap.

Guns ain't bad - we wouldn't be alive without 'em. And blaming guns on gun crime is like blaming your pencil for misspelt words.
And a Marlin is kind of an entry level weapon. They aint bad, but they aint great either. But if you're poor, you're going to have a hard time getting a hold of a gun. FID card application alone is $100 at your local PD, and the training is from $300 to $400 >.<

and stupid people who think they can use a baseball bat or kitchen knife to protect their family against a knife weilding home invader die.
It's ironic that a politically correct public wouldn't hesitate to insult gun-owners or characterize gun-owners as ignorant, paranoid and/or dangerous

Makes me think of one of the greatest moment's in the movie Untouchables. When the one guy breaks into Sean Connery's home:
"Isn't it like a ---- to bring a knife to a gunfight?"

Marlins are good rifles.
And don't apologize for having a weak spot for western movies - most of us have that weakness.
Just for you I'm posting a picture of my Uberti Cattleman - in .45 Colt - reproduction of the 1873 Single Action Colt revolver. This particular finish and barrel length is the same as Charles Bronson's gun in Once Upon a Time in the West. That's why I got it. Shown here on an cheap IKEA chair (I thought it had a nice "Western" look)

Awight, I'll post MY .308.
My CETME Modelo C, basically an HK G3A3 (since the G3 is the EXACT same design, except for color/trademarks).
She's a beaut, and is almost identical to Xue's FAL in reliability, power and pinpointing (believe it or not, some flutted barrels can LOWER the power of a round). I will admit, though, when you first get the rifle brand new, you'll think you got jipped - you need to use about 3 mags before the pin "finds it's place." After that it'll never missfire again.
